Annual Chapter Events for Our Students

Chapter Recitals: Our "Anything Goes Recitals" are relaxed, non-formal, and are available to help students "rehearse" their pieces while becoming a little more comfortable with performing. Students can come play parts of a piece, use their music if they want to, or do whatever is needed to help them share their music with others. They can play at one, as many or all of these recitals, if they wish to. Audiences are very welcome.

Music Artistry Program (formerly Adjudications): MAP is an individualized educational event, designed to give students the chance to perform for an outside teacher (or adjudicator) and receive brief verbal and written comments and encouragement and also a certificate. These have proven to be a wonderful learning opportunity for students, families and teachers alike, and we celebrate outstanding performances selected by the adjudicator in an Honors Recital the Sunday after the event.

Music Literacy Program (formerly Musicianship Exams): These are individual exams focusing on specific elements of music (such as played Technique, Written Theory, and Listening), designed to allow students to demonstrate their musical skills outside of performance. Musicianship Exams are a terrific assessment tool for teachers and students to gauge their progress in musical study, and we keep the event informal and flexible, with snacks, certificates and prizes for every student that participates.
